Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mave is a deadly addition to Equinox. Unlike the vast majority of the Coven, he has fallen into bloodlust. Mave hasn't been seen without blood on his scales since birth. Even as a baby, he tore any living dragon that came near him to shreds.

Eventually his Coven taught him such behaviors were dangerous and reigned the young male in a bit. The only dragons he's been allowed to tear apart still are those among the Creorluna clan.

He's got a price on his head for it. Creorluna has been trying to kill him now for quite some time. He's destroyed some very important dragons and turned several more. He's even attracted the attentions of the Black Grave, the old faction of Creorluna which they were betrayed. He gets along famously with them and has even helped bridge a tentative alliance between the rebels and his own Coven.

Few trust him though. Elders even have Ace watching him studiously, ready to kill him the moment he shows disloyalty to their alliance.
