Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Astrapi are easily the most temperamental of all Xenowyrm subspecies. Their unpredictable behavior—coupled with their masterful control of lightning magic—has the potential for devastating results. Most of their time is spent airborne, flying through the skies or circling mountainsides for prey.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Widescreen was small, he stuck near his parents as much as he could, to be safe from all the dangerous-looking things he feared. He loved nighttime and would pester his mother to accompany him on the cliff as he lay quietly in a daze, awake but glassy-eyed. It's a behavior that his parents never understood, but it seems to be something their son finds relaxing. Widescreen's magic ability developed decades after the typical xenowyrm's, and he's hurt himself countless times practicing his skills.

While he's moved to the valley to live among different dragons, his parents are still close so they can visit and see if he's doing okay. He still loves the night, and he developed another hobby: growing potatoes. He naturally almost entirely at night, and then sometimes he eats a potato. Naturally what... other dragons aren't sure, but what they see is a xenowyrm spread out on the ground, staring at seemingly nothing but enjoying it nonetheless. It's a quirk of a dragon with many quirks.
