Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In addition to his voluptuous coat, Soft's name also refers to his wonderfully docile and kind nature. Soft is especially affectionate towards others, be they dragon, human, or some other creature entirely. If he is placed in a room next to someone or something else, it won't be but ten minutes before he's snuggled up against them. It's often against their will. Soft never seems deterred by any manner of physical defense or rigid personality. He'll brave bladed spines, disgusting odors, and vile swearing just to give someone a hug. It's difficult to determine, then, if his tolerance for pain is a result of impressive bravery or foolish stupidity. Soft himself does not speak much and mostly communicates through action and soft peeping noises. He doesn't seem too concerned with the world around him, only those within it. No matter what is going on, he will show everybody within a five meter radius the utmost affection, empathy, and care, whether they want it or not.
