Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aeneatikoi lives in a city entirely of dracons. He, along with his mate Kwntkz, are mostly looked upon as the city's leaders, mostly because of his mate's almost perfect memory and love for politics. He, however, has almost no memory at all and finds it very hard to remember anything, even if it is important. He learned this fact over several decades, along with writing, and now writes everything into his notebooks, which he eternally has on him. It is rumored that even when he dreams he takes dream-notes, but it is unknown because he never remembers his dreams in the morning.

There is one thing that Aeneatikoi can remember. He has a room which stores all of his memory-journals, and he can instantly tell where a particular day's worth of memory is on the shelves. This room, known primarily as the Records, he calls "My memories". It is off-limits for anyone without his explicit permission, lest they scramble his mind or steal his memories.
