Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gurgens behaves as expected of an antarean dragon except she plops food on a flat, round panel of stone and eats from it with her paws. She learned this during a trip to one of the small towns by the mountains. There, she observed a bearded, warmly dressed human eat and thought that was neat, enough that she began to copy the human's eating habits once she returned home. Other dragons find her strange. She might as well eat properly with just her mouth and save time. Meanwhile, the humans are just as annoyed. They say that she learned her way of dining from a transient without decent manners. She might as well eat properly with some utensils to stay clean. There's just no pleasing people these days.
