Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vysoria was the only hatching her own age that she knew of; as a wyrmling she was always lonely and sad. She felt so blue that the color leeched into her scales as she longingly watched the skies. It wasn't until she was separated from her flock that things changed—she chanced into a group of dragons who call themselves the "Clan of Skye", and there was another young dragon of unknown parentage among them. He was older but had weak wings, so the two were evenly matched when it came to the games young nebulae play. Even as they outgrew their games, they maintained a wyrmlinglike rivalry, and to this day con be found goading one another into races and tests of acrobatics. Vysoria is faster than Evino, but less courageous when it comes to fancy maneuvers. As much as they seem to squabble, the moment things look bad they drop their attitudes. They are mates now, and Vysoria would unthinkingly give her live if it meant protecting Evino.
