Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts autumn weather.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

As a hatchling her growth was stunted by a mysterious illness, she is now very bitter and withdrawn from others in the Moonsong Clan. Ouris Austalis is trying to get her to at least be useful to the clan in the hope that some of her bitterness will fade. Equinox is rather disdainful of her, but follows along anyways as she knows she will never get a moments peace otherwise.
