Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Harvyste has strong nurturing instincts, and tries to help all living creatures to grow well. She took particular interest in odd two-legged creatures nesting at the foot of the mountain where she lives, and 'adopted' them as her flock of creatures. She tends them by making sure they have enough water—if the mountain stream down to their nesting area gets blocked by debris, she clears it for them—and by feeding them with carcasses she has leftover from her hunts in the mountain woods.

The creatures were shy at first, but have come to accept her presence. Harvyste has given names to the ones that come closest. If she holds very still, one or two will climb on her tail; once one dared to climb up to her shoulder, but jumped down as soon as she moved to pet it. Sometimes they even gather the food from her claw if she coaxes them to it.

Once another dragon thought to help himself to her flock. Harvyste quickly taught him that these were hers, protected, and NOT for eating!
