Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kind of an arrogant Frostbite, Shiver rather enjoys showing off for others and especially his wife, Pigeon. He adores the chill of winter and cannot bare to leave the cold of the mountains they live in, not even for a day. He stubbornly believes that if he doesn't have snow, he doesn't have an identity, which certainly owes to his confidence during the winter. In general, he does retain that signature Frostbite playfulness and mischief. He'll often play innocent pranks on the rest of Pigeon's family, though he tends to pick on some members more than others depending on who he finds the best reaction from. Despite the mischievous disposition, Shiver doesn't like hurting anyone. He is decidedly not a fighter, usually escaping threats instead of confronting them head-on. He can actually be a pretty big coward, often using his pranksterish ways to get out of his responsibilities or fool others into leaving him alone. But, when it comes down to it, he will be anything for Pigeon.
