Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Emulative copies the behavior of everyone she meets and has picked up many mannerisms from her owners. She can even sit on a chair, legs crossed, book between her arms, though of course she doesn't know the purpose of a book. The folks in town are enthralled by this little sunbeam drake and look for more things for themselves or their pets and livestock to do in hopes she'll copy them. People wonder if Emulative was a smarter animal cursed with a drake's appearance, or perhaps someone placed a spell on an ordinary drake to make her behave like this, but analyses from the neighbor witches and illusion scholars have shown that hunch to be untrue. The head-of-household is just glad she's housebroken.
