Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Soyogu is especially well-liked among the hatchlings in the Sylvain clan, because of his talent for breathing gentle streams of ice into delicate frozen patterns. His favorite use for his abilities is growing icicles, and he will sometimes spend hours patiently coating a grove of trees with twinkling spires of ice. During the winter season, the dragons who can stand the chill occasionally ask him if he can decorate their scales with frost; the hatchlings love parading around with glittering snowflake designs spread across their wings.
