Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s always proudly preening its patches of colorful scales.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Jayesh lives in a cozy little enclosure in Uniform Cave 23. Although he's not a fan of furniture, hay, or any other overly luxurious items and has none of those, he does have toys to play with and essays and books to read. A bit of a picky eater, he dines on various types of grass, minerals, and dirt, refusing to eat anything else unless he really must. Despite his enclosure's fireproof stone, he doesn't breathe fire because doing so seems rude to his caretakers, neither of whom can create fire. Whenever other dragons (particularly those who are parents themselves) visit Uniform Cave 23, they complain that Jayesh is being abused. "The poor thing," they say. "Stuck in that box and so stressed out." They don't seem to believe whenever he insists he likes things this way, and some of the really "caring" people promise, in baby voices, to figure out how to rescue him. This Jayesh finds demeaning and patronizing; he's two decades old and can think for himself, not an infant with wings.
