Garland Dragons are a welcome sight in the skies during the holiday season. Their slightly luminous scales shine softly at night or catch the day’s sunbeams as they turn loops and spirals in the sky. They will often drape themselves around tall pine trees or along rooflines, adding a festive note to the winter scenery. Occasionally they drop red mana berries from their garland-like mane, which offer a comforting warmth to those that find them.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

As a young dragon, Tate Oh Hi got a summer internship at the Blusang Broadcasting Coalition and learned how to operate the magical orbs and crystals used to broadcast sounds and images to viewers' magic mirrors, scrying pools, and other, similar equipment. She decided she needed to use this to spread holiday cheer using her natural element, fire.

Every year, Tate sets her equipment up in front of a hearth which she keeps burning all through the holidays. The first year she tried this she had some difficulties with the broadcasting equipment, so she had a yulebuck tend the fire for her while she worked on her temperamental equipment. Viewers saw the yulebuck's hand as he stirred the fire or added another log and assumed he was the one behind the program, which to this day is generally called the "Yule Log". Tate tried renaming it "Garland Log" on the magic mirror channel guide, but viewers complained that it was a copycat program and demanded the original, so she changed the name back.
