Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

San Frankus is a descendant of somebody important who is probably a king somewhere. He doesn't know who that is. Most can't name their ancestors past their great-grandparents, and San Frankus is no different. Besides, that doesn't matter because he's so far removed from this important dragon that there's little chance the kingdom will go to him. San Frankus doesn't really stand out in any special way. People who know little about him find him rather boring. Those who know him well also think he is boring.
