Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The Gnaw, or the Eternal Gnaw, is the great wyrm who rules over the Elder Bog. Its origins are unknown, and to viewers, the only features visible out of the haze where it's taken residence are its cavernous mouth and enormous, gnashing teeth. It demands to be fed by the residents of the Elder Bog, threatening them with a plague if they don't. The population dwindled as one-by-one, the Gnaw's plague took hold of the people there, and their structures were left to deteriorate. The remaining survivors began worshiping the terrible wyrm in hopes they would be spared. The only way for the lowly creatures trapped in the Elder Bog to escape the Gnaw for good is to prepare food for it and satisfy its cravings. Because it's terribly picky and terribly impatient, this is an extremely difficult task involving a lot of guesswork or prior knowledge of the Gnaw.
