Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ahmedabad towers over nearly everyone living around the volcano and looks upon the smaller creatures with disdain, especially since most see him as a big, dumb brute. He loves a good scuffle and respects those who equal him, and it's true that he's not as quick-thinking as the tiny pyralspites and whites. One would not expect a magma dragon to strategize much beyond "strike the enemy" or put a lot of care into his appearance, so Ahmedabad can't help but puff with pride when someone notices. His best (i.e. only) mate, a pyro xenowyrm with an unfair knack for spotting weaknesses and a weird obsession with lava fishing, is the only dragon who can best him in a brawl and the only one who can read his face and tell the difference between a peeved snarl and a lewdly mirthful grin.
