Yellow-Crowned Dragons are found in the hottest, driest regions of the desert. Although they thrive in these conditions, they do very poorly in cold or humid climates. These dragons are very fast fliers and skilled hunters, and usually feed on small, quick desert antelope. Yellow-Crowned Dragons are diurnal, and spend the night in underground burrows they dig or steal from other creatures. They are often seen out sunning themselves in the early morning sun, waiting for the heat of the day to set in.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When SkimV heard that TungQ was writing a novel where he was the hero, he panicked. He had never done anything heroic before, so he decided he had to set out on an adventure to prove himself worthy of the role. He trained in combat and set out on a number of harrowing misadventures, trying to do something to prove himself worthy of the dragoness's story. He was never a particularly strong yellow-crowned, though, and there is a whole lot of nothingness in the Voiceless Desert. Eventually, he trekked back to the glass spire that Tung called home and told her, "I'm sorry, I can't be your hero. I'm not made of the right stuff."

"Don't be silly, Skim," she said, "You already are."

Skim was flabbergasted. Tung explained how in the lingo of romance novels, 'hero' simply refers to the character whom the heroine falls in love with by the end of the book, no great deeds required. Reality has come to match the fiction; the two have been living together happily ever since.
