White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Heart Yearns was betrothed as an egg to a Black dragon named The Mind Churns.  When he was a hatchling, he discovered, much to the chagrin of his father and grandfather, that he is gay, thus making his destiny to become lifemated with The Mind Churns impossible.  The Heart Yearns began to avoid the other dragons, except for an older gay White dragon, named Fluffy.  Fluffy convinced The Heart Yearns that he should come out of the closet, and not lose The Mind Churns as a friend, nullifying their years together as hatchlings.

Eventually, The Heart Yearns built up the courage to tell The Mind Churns about his sexuality.  She accepted it rather grudgingly, because although she was angry with him  she still wanted to be his lifemate.  Despite this, she and The Heart Yearns have renewed their childhood friendship.
