Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Boldly is rarely seen out of the company of his brother, A Tad Flashy, due to his shared love of being in the limelight.  Boldly believes that there is no dragon in existence more noble and brave than him, and strives to prove the latter fact by performing hair-raising stunts and dares, often going to the point of blindly risking his life.  His brother readily allows this behaviour -- as the closer everyone's eyes are to Boldly, the closer they are to Flashy -- yet all this stops as soon as the clan's Alpha, Preto Osso, finds out, as he adamantly refuses to tolerate any reckless mannerisms that could endanger the life of any of his clan.  Boldly won't allow just any drab, common female to be his mate; he currently has his eyes on the indifferent Silver dragon, Shard of a Broken Moon, to prance at his side.
