Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Spoiled, as he likes to be called, is the self-appointed guardian of a large group of male and female Swallowtails. He keeps the other, non-mated males out, since there are not enough females for them to be with. While the rules in the group are not strict, Spoiled took it upon himself to keep other Swallowtails out who might cause trouble. He has an extreme dislike of dragons who have messy lineages and takes pride in his own parents and grandparents. Spoiled has a mate himself, a young Swallowtail obsessed over pillows, so he has a safe standing in the group in his mind.

When a non-mated dragon tries to enter the groups cave, Spoiled flares his wings out, waving his tails behind him and threatening them to go away. He has gotten into a few scuffles from the more desperate dragons, but his large size allows him to come out on top and send them scurrying away.
