Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A shy, friendly little fellow, he seems always to be looking up at the sky instead of where he's going. He says that he sees beautiful things there, and sometimes hears music coming very faintly from the stars. Of course, this habit of his causes him to walk into things a lot--and a few blasphemous souls even dare to say that his visions are a result of his clumsiness, not any holy touch.
