Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Colossal Valentine is big. She is six feet taller than the other Valentine in her gang, and her body is decorated with artwork, writing in multiple languages, and several symbols only understood by her. Her intimidating appearance is softened by the way she smiles congenially at everyone, however, and she's kind to strangers. She is physically strong and a reliable problem-solver for her peers, and surprisingly agile and slippery for her size. Colossal Valentine and her gang aren't exactly on the right side of the law, but they do enough good around the Seven Sufficient Districts that some lawmen are willing to look the other way when they show up. Many dragons and even a non-dragon here or there seek out her gang and her specifically with romance in mind, but it seems she already has her eyes on someone else. No one else in her group knows who that is, but they don't pry because there must be a good reason she doesn't want to say.
