It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Periwinkle is a lot like her mother, Eminence: playful, fun-loving, hyperactive, and full of energy. She is the best friend of her sister, UV, whom she is never too far from. The two of them love strutting the beach of the sanctuary come summertime, enjoying the burning heat of the sun. UV will even braid Periwinkle's long, flowing antennae. Periwinkle is very open to making new friends. She loves going to parties and other such social gatherings and surrounding herself with dragons to talk to. She's often the one to usher the slightly shyer UV into these gatherings. Though sweet and very friendly, Periwinkle is no pushover. If she sees UV getting picked on or singled out in some way, she is quick to fly in and rescue her. Periwinkle also possesses some surprising physical and magical strength. Nothing substantial, it's not like she could take a grisly bear out or anything, but when she needs to defend herself or UV, she is fully capable of doing so.
