It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While her sister, Byzantine, is seen around their home sanctuary as a regal princess of goodness, Emi is seen more as a court jester. She is playful, wild, and carefree, taking life in strides and not letting anyone slow her down. She and her sister actually have an almost bitter relationship, especially when Emi's Spitfire mate, Bullet, gets brought up. It's a known fact that Byzantine loves everyone and vice-versa, but she and Bullet do not get along. No one knows the full story, but, judging by how Emi mated with him shortly before this hatred was noticed, some conclusions can be drawn. Regardless, Emi is just the same overly positive, wild thing she's always been. Her personality tends to clash with Bullet's more grumpy, distasteful one, but they seem to share a mutual bond when it comes to Byzantine. They're also very willing to stand up for one another when they feel the other is threatened or demeaned, especially Bullet, who will actively start fights if Emi is shamed.
