Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

There was always something about the mushrooms. No dragon knew how they came to lie in the forest, and no dragon knew how to remove them, but all life in the surrounding lands knew there was something wrong with that circle. Perhaps it was Gefn's curious nature that enticed him to wander into the forest that night. Perhaps it was his hunger that drew him closer to the succulent fungi. Perhaps it was his fear of the night which tugged his mind towards the eerie glow. Perhaps it was fate. Perhaps fortune wanted another fool.

From the moment his hasty paw entered the ring, he knew something was wrong. His green eyes blinking into confusion, he puzzled around his invisible cage, the mushroom ring simply not letting his escape. Howling with pity and fear, he curled up and began to endure the night.

Of course, the clans soon noticed a missing hatchling. They soon found him. But none could figure the puzzle of how to get him out. And none have. So he remains. Trapped.
