When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flame is a member of a group of Water Dragons who live in a wide lake. He is rather arrogant, with a possibly permanent stuck up snout and a 'high and mighty' perspective of himself. He interrupts other conversations frequently, usually saying something that doesn't make any sense, and even tries to bribe others to be his 'friends', though no one has accepted since crabs aren't a currency.

Like the rest of his pod, Flame has his own tune that he sings when he wants to impress someone. Surprisingly, the male has a beautiful voice that he twists to make songs, usually with a few telepathic words mixed in. He likes to mesmerize outsiders from the surface into thinking that he can be their friend, but some of the other members take it upon themselves to change their minds.

Flame doesn't like it when he feels sad. He is disgusted with himself when it happens and always seeks out others to mess with so that he doesn't feel pitiful again.
