Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For how terrifying and loud his family can be, Foal is a surprising little cinnamon roll. He is very sweet and considerate. He typically sticks close to his parents and listens well to both of them, unlike all his siblings. Of them, he relates most to Apollyon, who is constantly bullied by their stronger siblings. Foal is the only one who gives her sympathy and love, though she's so hardened, she often rejects it. Foal is also very kind to his Hellfire father, Adramalech. He knows how fearful his father is of all the female Hellfires in their family, so offers him support. Foal is easily Adramalech's favorite, which definitely leads to some turmoil. Because of how well Adramalech treats Foal, the other siblings feel cheated and spiteful of him. So, like Apollyon, Foal is often targeted by his sisters. He takes it a lot better, though. He understands their jealously and how screwed up the whole situation is. He wishes there were some way to fix the situation, but he has no way to do so.
