Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

FerineWaterHorse is a Waterhorse Dragon with a temper. Unlike most of his species, he isn't fun or friendly—ever. He's extremely self-centered, and can be crude or even brutal at times. The slightest mistake by another dragon will throw FerineWaterHorse into a powerful rage. He is even violent sometimes, when very upset. The cave he was born in is far away from the cave he lives in now. At the cave FerineWaterHorse was born in, he would be killed on sight. He killed a hatchling during his adolescence, in a furious rage. He was banished and was to sentenced to death if he ever was seen again. Lucky for him, his new cave has never been informed of his past crimes. He's gotten in trouble in his cave, but he has caused far more trouble to other caves. He's been permanently banned from no less than three of the nearby caves. He's mean to everyone, but is worst to his mate DaintyWaterHorse. She's quite mean to him as well, so it sort of works out.
