As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

While hunting at night, Mistress often sees light specks in the distance. As a night glory dragon she isn't very curious and usually flies away from the strange light, but one time she couldn't help it. As she came closer, the light got brighter. She always thought that these were lights from human settlements, but this was no ordinary light—it shone dark blue. Finally seeing the light clearly, she saw a weird creature next to it. It could have been a dark dragon, but he got scared of Mistress and ran to the forest. Mistress wasn't interested in the creature, she just wanted to understand the light. There was a dark blue orb lying on the ground like in a nest, but it's form was not similar to an eggs. After a few moments Mistress touched the orb with her nose and unleashed a major explosion. With light going everywhere, her eyes started to burn. Mistress quickly flew away scared of what she might have unleashed. She doesn't travel anymore and her eyesight was never good after that.
