Crimson Flare Pygmies are named after their small size and speed. They are fast and love to fly up and down in steep climbs and dives, giving the impression of a flare of color in the sky. These dragons travel in swarms during migration seasons and are very social. They live in tropical locations or wherever it is warm, and they are often seen near active volcanoes.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

In a community full of doers and wannabes, Perceived is the total opposite. She is perfectly happy remaining relatively unknown rather than meeting strangers, studying literature, or trying to make a name for herself. She would actually become flustered and upset if people drew attention to her. The other dragons want to climb the ranks or produce some work that becomes well-known, while Perceived does the small things that keep her group together and running smoothly, such as replacing outdated signs, sweeping the caves, and making sure there's always tea in the community center where a lot of business and negotiations are carried out.
