Kyanite Pygmies are a feisty breed, always full of energy. Playfully ebullient, these tiny and elusive dragons like to chase after one another, darting in and out of small alcoves and other such hiding places. They often dig small burrows underneath large trees and nibble on the roots for sustenance. They rely on the towering oaks’ formidable trunks and vast immensity to hide them from predators, something their small size aids in. Kyanites also secrete a weak toxin when threatened, which further protects them from intruders. However, this poison is not strong enough to affect larger creatures, humans included.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

What Next enjoys arranging objects in his tree stump into nice shapes and patterns, and the challenge of choosing the right things for the limited space is part of the fun. The things he keeps in his home are usually too small to matter or simply nothing of interest to other dragons, so he doesn't worry about anyone stealing his things. He wouldn't do anything about it if things were stolen because they're exactly the sort of things that are easily replaced. What Next doesn't spend as much time socializing as other kyanite pygmies in the area because he thinks he has an unpleasant deathly odor—he's not sure how or where he picked it up, but he's sure it makes others uncomfortable. During summer and early fall, his favorite time of day is the bit of night where it's pitch black. He doesn't go outside because he's terrified of the dangers lurking around that he can't see, but he likes lying awake and listening to the nighttime noises.
