Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For a long time, Qiaxo was among the soulless dragons who followed the Singer of Souls, until the Singer's magic finally summoned a soul for her. No longer needing her help, Qia left her and found a new home on an island known as the Eye of the Storm where she joined the dragons that live there. Oddly, she kept the name that the Singer used for her.

Qia and her mate, Tnora, are part of the Clan of Storme. She is afraid that there is a problem with her being with her girlfriend, though the only dragon in their clan to complain about it is Emeralis, and it is known that he dislikes everything he doesn't understand. Tnora is constantly reassuring her that love is just another of those things that is beyond his ill-functioning brain. Hartmere thinks their relationship is beautiful, and as a heartseeker, he should know. Some of the clan's males are willing to help Qia and Tnora have a family.

Tnora is rather clumsy, and Qia helps her doing many things that require dexterity with foreclaws.
