Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One Before The Sun's egg was found on one of the great stones of Lord Of Infinity And Eternity's henge. It cast a long shadow that disrupted his lesson on calendrical calculations until he brought it inside to be cared for by a few of the more maternally-inclined of the weyr. One Before The Sun grew up alongside Lord Of Vision And Light, the grandson of Lord Of Infinity And Eternity, and though the silver had found a mate already, she had hoped that he might one day look to her, his flying companion, as a potential partner. Instead, one of the few golds in the weyr, Lord Of The Sun In Equilibrium, approached her. When they are aloft together, she delights in shaping clouds to cast interesting shadows on the land far below for his amusement. They have one gold daughter who remains in the weyr, Lady Of The Meridian.
