Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cachemonet is a sort of vagabond, never settling to make a nest. Despite being shunned by other dragons, she always tries to keep herself entertained due to the lack of companions. Many small dragons would flee from her presence, and larger dragons threatened to harm her. She spends the daytime sleeping in a hole or small, hidden cave. At night, she either steals livestock from a village or catches a deer to sustain herself. She doesn't actually want to hurt other living creatures, but since she can't survive without drinking blood, she's forced to kill animals for her own survival. A very timid dragon, the sound of a snapping twig or rustling leaves will instantly send her running for the cover of a cave or large burrow.

In her heart, she just wants someone to love her as a daughter or friend, but because her egg was bitten by a Vampire dragon before, she has no choice in the matter.
