Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon was picked off of a cave where many dragons have abandoned their eggs.

The dragon who took this egg, a White Dragon named Archimedes Dove, cared for it until it hatched, but was dismayed when she saw a dead hatchling tumble out from the egg. None of her healing abilities helped to revive it, but she soon found that it moved around at night, mournfully wailing as if in pain.

It broke Archimedes' heart to see it live in such misery. The little dragon's cries would die down when she held it close to her. At times, it would catch small rodents and animals and drain their blood through it's fangs. This bothered the White dragon, but she allowed it to do so as it helped the young dragon thrive.

Now, Shadowed Claws Of Pain can be heard at night, crying out to nothing at all, but when she's around Archimedes, she calms down, and her unseen pain is abated for a moment. Her suffering is possibly because the vampire venom still runs through her veins... burning... agonizing...
