Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dust Butt is a caretaker of eggs and a total softy. He envies his sister Xeno—she's confident, strong, and sociable, and she seems to be good at everything except minding money. She lives in a city with humans and owns a dragon crafts stall. The humans use pieces of waterproof paper as currency, so of course, Xeno does as well. Other than craft materials, the only things she seems to buy with her human money are chicken tenders. She is terribly fond of them, and Dust Butt is powerless to stop her from buying them since he's too afraid to venture into the city. To keep his sister from eating them all in a day, he is tasked with storage and care of her massive hoard of chicken tenders in a cave far from the city. It's a very silly side job that none of the other dragons understand, but Dust Butt, the tender tender tender, enjoys it immensely.
