Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Qooti never appreciated her power as an avatar of destruction. It was so easy for her to destroy cities and wilderness she didn't enjoy it. So she set her sights on other dragons' relationships, a challenge for her to break. She spent many decades using more subtle powers than is typical of her kind to separate friendships and cause couples to hate their life-mates.

Of course, things changed after Qooti set her sights on what she thought would be an easy relationship to break: Recolove and her mates Mismagielle and Voidnihil. She focused her efforts on Mismagielle, thinking a caligene would be easier to work than a cassare. But he used himself as bait to lure Qooti into Recolove's control; Voidnihil prevented her escape. It came out that Qooti loved Mismagielle, and Recolove was willing to periodically lend him to her.

Though Qooti still likes breaking hearts, having a relationship often stays her wrath. Her new destructive hobby is driving stray humans to insanity, then watching them.
