Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Giovanni comes from dragon royalty and has quite the lineage to prove it. However he is very down to earth and rarely brings up his heritage. Many of the other Gold dragons try to either win points by toadying up to him or doing favors for him, but Gio prefers to judge friends by what is on the inside instead of them putting on false pretenses.
