Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Chronos are often considered to be the most elusive of all Xenowyrm subspecies: they live in the darkest and densest forests, far from civilization. They are masters of time magic, allowing them to manipulate the flow of time at will. It is said that Chrono lairs are protected by a field of magic that makes the minutes tick by at a slow pace for any unwanted visitors.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Timecard says he writes factual books and scrolls, although in reality, his writing is only tenuously related to fact and is identified as a methodological mess by scholars. His most notable piece is an essay about butterfly anatomy, which states that the anus of the Orteid common skipper is the second largest in the animal kingdom and is routinely inhabited by brown recluse spiders. Most readers don't take his work seriously, though some do believe him- the texts are nicely formatted, sound authoritative, and are written by a long-lived and therefore wise xenowyrm; therefore, they must be true. The reason nobody, even other powerful dragons who reside in the same forest, have tried to "silence" Timecard is that whenever he puts out a new piece, other folks take it and formulate their own arguments in response. In short, the questionable research leads to others producing quality research, though he never intended to do that.
