Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Pinter was purchased as an egg from a breeder by a human merchant named Kiva. The friendly merchant raised him as a sort of "guard dog" for her wares, and he watches over her shop in the seaside village known as the Port of Steldon. Though this land is under the domain of a large dragon Clan, Pinter is considered domestic and therefore under the protection of the humans alone; he rarely interacts with other dragons or drakes outside of Steldon.

He is friendly to visitors and enjoys head scritches, but understands that no human should take anything from the shop without first consulting Kiva, and will loudly notify the whole neighborhood should anyone try. Though usually nonviolent, he will viciously protect his human and immediate family.
