Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It becomes quite fierce when it gets upset.

And look! It’s gotten bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Garvino is the third oldest child of Master Thorn and Past President Merrill and their oldest adopted child, but she tries to change the subject of her parents whenever people talk to her because they almost always ask what greatness she will achieve in the future or how she's following in their eminent wing-wakes. She thinks the assumption is a tiny bit unfair because while she does study runes and ritual magic and really enjoys learning those, she isn't really attuned to the elements and is more of a physical combat breed of dragon. Plus, she doesn't even have wings, so they're not easy to follow in the literal sense. Garvino harbors no resentment towards her motley family, since she doesn't view them as the problem here. Her parents always provide for her and her siblings and expect nothing more of her than "learn to survive, make friends, be productive".
