Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Similar with his best friend Shajiku, Hisagi Shuuhei has a calm disposition that helps him get along well with everyone he meets, even the fiery Rai-hime and cold Koori. His responsible and mature nature has resulted in him often single-handedly leading groups of new hatchlings on their first hunting trip, tutoring and correcting them while keeping an eye out for any danger, be it from the land or sky. As is the norm of his species, Hisagi loves flying; one of his goals in life is to someday surpass his mother in terms of speed and skill. Hence, in his free time away from his responsibilities, this skywing dragon can usually be seen practicing complicated aerial maneuvers, putting on a show that delights and entrances his young audience.
