Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Unforeseeable is the founder and king of a colony on the west side of Palm Mountain, a mountain which contains no palms except those on the hands of the dragons and humans who also live on the mountain. Neither species has any idea that the landform they call Peak of Pena has royalty living there who calls it Palm Mountain. When Unforeseeable left his parents and peers behind on the comfortable east side of Pena, nobody wanted to follow him to the drier, less habitable west side, so he scooped up a nest of ants into a sack to be his travel buddies. Once he and the ants reached a nice-looking spot to settle down, he poured them out, planted a marker in the ground, and declared himself king of the new colony. He also renamed Peak of Pena to Palm Mountain for good measure, and over time, he's come up with new names for every landmark in sight. People planning to travel through or around Pena are advised to avoid the ridgewing named Unforeseeable because he gives the worst directions.
