Nobleshield Dragons are aptly named for their self-assumed position as defenders of the innocent. Spurred by their highly protective instincts, these dragons assign themselves to others they perceive as vulnerable to injustice and danger. There is little criteria to be considered for the object of a Nobleshield’s attentions, and it sometimes appears to be a completely random selection. However, most believe themselves lucky to have such a dragon willing to go to extreme lengths to ensure their safety. Whenever the ward of a Nobleshield is threatened, these dragons become frighteningly ruthless—the shields on their tails serve as equally devastating weapons and the plated armor over their more vulnerable body parts is near impenetrable, thus sustaining an impressive endurance through battles. Because of this, these dragons are socially well respected, and only acquiesce authority to dragons proven stronger than themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The other Regalscale child to be snuck away from her broken home by her father, Mulberry. Amaranth has taken to her home abroad much better than her brother, Salmon. Most of that comes down to her personality. Amaranth is a bold, spirited dragon with a great amount of intensity. She's extremely stubborn and always gets what she wants, even if that means a little threatening andor violence. This doesn't mean she lacks her breed's signature sense of loyalty, though, far from it in fact. Amaranth is extremely loyal to her mate, whom she will protect at all costs, even from herself. Around her, she is as caring as a mother dragon and will not stand for anyone disrespecting her. Of course, whenever they are standing together, no one even thinks about messing with them. Though stubborn, Amaranth fully admits she isn't the best at empathy or understanding, which is something she works hard on for her mate. She wants to be the best she can be for her and ensure she can be happy forever.
