Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When a contagion first appeared on Garlsreim, Viral Corona was the first to advise that Nworset Spaceport close rifts and shut down teleportation access to affected areas. At that time, nobody took her seriously. Everyone realised the value of her suggestion after the first case of contagion appeared in Nworset, but by then it was too late. The entire city had to shut down to limit the spread of the strange, green mana-virus. The Love Song chronoxenos tried to send a message back in time to support Viral Corona's warning, but the virus was time-independent and changing history out from under it did not undo cases. Mayor Kwntkz assigned Viral Corona as the head of an infectious disease task force that was created to fight the contagion.

The contagion ended with the arrival of the first arcanae, but the task force still exists. Viral Corona keeps track of diseases around the world, organises and informs healers, and draws on magic from the twelve elements to help protect all dragonkind.
