Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

NtabS is a citizen of the city of Doboja. He's particular about the pronunciation of his name, asserting that he can hear when a lowercase letter is used instead of uppercase and vice versa, and he reduced his job prospects that one time he halted the 26th Year Wheaten Procession for four minutes to correct the Step Marshal on his name. He works as a doorman at the underground fighting ring, which is not illegal, just located underground where the noise and rumbling won't disturb the rest of the city. His work period is one of the day shifts, and he's assigned to the few parts of the venue that aren't lit by fungus, electricity-on-nibs, and Chang's Pocket Stars. Although some residents of Doboja find Nocturne Dragons quite mysterious, NtabS behaves so... ordinarily that sometimes they forget he is one, until a light is shone on him. The Eyes of Doboja have no interest in him.
