Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Seion guards an old crumbling keep in the center of a large lake. The lower floors of the keep have rotted and fallen clean away, leaving the only way to access the upper levels via the sky. For a long time now a princess of a neighboring country has been held hostage here, as her father sought war against the dragon clan in order to steal their hoards of gold. At the first the princess did nothing but await rescue, but it soon became apparent that the King valued treasure more than he did his daughter and she quickly became friends with Seion and some of the other surrounding dragons.

Even though there is little change of an army or knight attempting to rescue the princess, Seion still has to keep a careful watch over her. There are those in the territory that feel keeping the girl safe when at war with her kingdom is disgraceful and seek to claim her life.
