Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Night Fire of Fury (Furyfire) is a nocturne dragon, therefore she takes one form by day and another by night. Due to the unfortunate nature of her breed, Furyfire doesn't have many friends, except for the other nocturne dragons. By day, Furyfire is cemented into a sitting position where she gazes at the whiptails as they round up flocks of birds. She grew very impressed with one particular male dragon named Kinetic due to his agility, speed and long, cracking whiplike tail. By day she gazed at the dragon in awe and planned how she should introduced herself to the whiptail, as she thought that the male dragon hadn't noticed her, but she was wrong. Kinetic was an active young whiptail who didn't want to watch his eggs and be grounded with the responsibility of fatherhood, so he chose a female dragon who would have to stay with the eggs. This female would be Furyfire because she becomes like stone by day. However, Kinetic eventually fell in love with the form changing female.
