Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fabulous is a highly imaginative dragon who lives in a group of male and female Swallowtails. He was one of the first males to ever join the group, but his excited nature made any dragons who wanted a mate stay away from him. Fortunately, Fabulous somehow caught the eye of a highly respected Swallowtail named Breath Taking. She seemed to like his energetic nature and imaginative stories, so they eventually got together.

Fabulous creates stories for his mate whenever he has free time. Most are romances, with two star-crossed lovers having to fight enemies to get back together. Sometimes he tells sad ones for his mate, since she requests them frequently. Telling those kind of stories, however, make Fabulous cry, so Breath Taking has to comfort him after the tale.

Fabulous is so wrapped up in his imagination that he doesn't think very clearly about the dragons rejected from the group. He makes up stories about their lives, but hasn't actually met them as of yet.
