Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This is a very strange hatchling. Ever since it hatched, it just sat in a corner with its back to the world. It hasn't aged a day and its bright green scales seem to have a red or black tint in the right light. Its eyes are completely black, lacking irises and the whites of its eyes. Black itself wouldn't be so bad, but they are not merely black. They are as dark as a starless night. The hatchling whispers to itself constantly. Some dragons say they've heard it whisper about blood, death and the end of the world. Significantly creeped out by the hatchling, others stay far away from it. The Elders of its cave have refused to exile it, pointing out that there are no grounds for expulsion. However, anyone who enters its corner of the cave on a dark night rarely ever emerges again...
